A faster way to collect website images
Saving images one by one works on a small page, but it quickly becomes painful across an entire website. Important assets may be hidden in responsive image sets, lazy-loading attributes, CSS backgrounds and internal pages. Gather follows public same-domain pages and builds one image list for the whole scan.
The free scan covers up to 250 pages and reports how many images it found, their estimated source size and the likely saving after compression. You can download the first 25 images free before deciding whether the complete export is worth it.
Download from an entire website, not just one webpage
Many browser extensions list the images loaded in one tab. Gather is designed for the different problem agencies face during a rebuild: crawling the public website, following its internal pages and collecting the useful images into one export.
If you want to compare page-level tools, wget and a full-site crawler, read the guide to scraping images from a website.
How to download a website’s images
- Open Gather and enter the website’s main URL.
- Choose WebP, AVIF or original files, plus a sensible maximum width.
- Run the free scan and review the pages, image count and estimated size.
- Download the free sample or unlock the complete image pack.
- Open the ZIP to find the processed files and a simple collection report.
What the website image extractor looks for
Gather checks ordinary image elements, responsive srcset candidates, common lazy-load attributes, social sharing images and CSS background images. It removes duplicate URLs before building the export, then gives files safer, readable names where possible.
For modern rebuilds, WebP is a practical default. You can also preserve original formats or choose AVIF when the smallest output matters more than processing time. Oversized or animated files that cannot be transformed safely are retained rather than silently damaged.
When a bulk image downloader may not find everything
Some sites require a login, deliberately block automated requests or create all imagery inside JavaScript after the page loads. Those sites may return a partial result. Assets on private networks and non-public URLs are blocked for security.
If the old site is still publicly accessible, Gather is designed to give agencies and site owners a useful starting point before the original hosting disappears.
Turn an old website into a usable image pack.
Scan first, see what Gather finds, then choose whether you need the free sample or the full ZIP.
